Dr. Terry Riley
|
Dr. Riley received a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from San Diego State University in 1988. After completing his internships with the San Diego Chargers and San Diego Mesa College he sat for the National Boards and became a Certified Athletic Trainer. Dr. Riley then served as an assistant instructor to Paul Chek’s popular Scientific Abdominal and Back Training courses. His contributions to the C.H.E.K. Institute can be seen in such videos as the “Strong and Stable” series. Dr. Riley is an avid sports enthusiast and competitor. He has coached several sports including water skiing, snowboarding, and cycling.
While working as an Athletic Trainer in a rehabilitation clinic he determined he wanted to devote his life to helping people gain health and wellness through holistic means including proper nutrition, regular exercise and by maintaining proper nerve function. One of Dr. Riley’s major academic accomplishments was graduating from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1994 and then receiving his California State Chiropractic License. He then moved back to San Diego to open Power Chiropractic Family Wellness Center where he established himself as “the” sports and family wellness Doctor in Pacific Beach. During the San Diego wildfires (Firestorm 2007) Dr. Riley, and other like minded doctors in the San Diego area, provided services by assisting firefighters at several respites around the county.
In 2007 Dr. Riley received a call from his brother-in-law, a resident of Dana Point, about a new incredible pain relieving therapy he was receiving from a Class IV Laser. Dr. Riley was familiar with Mike’s long history of chronic pain and trying multiple types of therapies in an effort to obtain some relief from injuries he suffered in his younger years. After months of research, Dr. Riley discovered the lengthy history behind Class IV Laser Therapy, also know as Photo Medicine or Photobiomodulation, and how beneficial it has been in Europe, Canada and Asia for many years and was now FDA cleared for use in the United States. Dr. Riley found that using Laser Therapy was very complimentary to his passion for providing natural wellness services because it is a pain free, noninvasive and a non-surgical approach to managing pain and healing injuries. In February 2008, Dr. Riley obtained his Certified Laser Technician credentials, and in April of 2008, Dr. Riley opened Pacifica Laser Pain Center in Dana Point, CA. This is the nation’s first pain management and wound healing center to exclusively offer this new laser technology to those with acute, chronic or periodic pain.
“I am so excited to be a part of the new age of pain healing technology that supports my passion to help individuals obtain optimal health and live a more active lifestyle.”
